Trinfinity releases free AppleScripts for iTunes
March 14, 2003 - 11:16 PST
Trinfinity Software has released three freeware, open-source AppleScripts for iTunes that clean up the ID3 tags of the songs in your music library. The "Capitalize Words In Tags" script capitalizes the first letter of each word in the song name, artist, and album tags. It also makes all other characters in the tags lowercase. "Extract Artist From Song Name" removes the artist name from the song name tag and puts it into the artist tag. It also removes leading and trailing spaces from both the song name tag and the artist tag. "Remove Track Number from Song Name" removes the track number from the song name along with spaces and dashes. The AppleScripts for iTunes require iTunes 2.0.3 or later and can be used on both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.
