Apple targeting corporate market with G5?
July 27, 2003 - 12:48 PDT
MacMinute reader Alarik Skarstrom reports that Apple purchased a two-page ad for the Power Mac G5 on the inside front cover of The Economist. "Given the Economist's standing and audience, this is extremely suggestive. Apple clearly wants to segue into the large-scale corporate market (Oracle almost always has its ad on the back cover)," notes Skarstrom. "As you know, the Economist is extraordinarily influential in the business world and to find an Apple ad in it is, in fact, quite startling. Apparently Apple is moving in two directions simultaneously -- into consumer gizmos, on the one hand, and into backend Unix stuff, on the other."
