Apple pushes back dual G5 ship date
August 29, 2003 - 00:38 EDT
A number of MacMinute readers report that Apple has changed the expected shipping date for their dual 2GHz Power Mac G5 from "on or before 8/29/03" to "on or before 9/26/03." Apple has continually said that the dual 2GHz machines would ship before the end of August. Rhett Michelson reports: "I ordered a dual Power Mac G5 at 9:00 a.m. on 6/25 through the Apple Store for Education. The shipping information for the last three months has been 'on or before 8/29/03.' At approximately 7:00 p.m. PDT the shipment information changed to 'on or before 9/26/03.'" Another reader reports the same: "I ordered a dual G5 within the first 20 minutes after the Apple web store with the G5 was put up. My ship date was on or before 8/29 until 10:00 p.m. MST on 8/28. Suddenly the ship date was moved out to 9/26/03."
