Apple.com traffic surges in wake of iTunes for Windows

NetRatings has issued a report stating that traffic to Apple's Web site surged during the week ending October 19th, as users flocked in to download the recently released iTunes for Windows software. "Traffic from work to the Apple Product Info & Support channel, which provides access to download the iTunes application, surged 112 percent to more than one million unique visitors, as compared to 479,000 unique visitors during the previous week," the report notes. "Traffic from home to the channel jumped 37 percent to 941,000 unique visitors, as compared to 686,000 visitors the week prior."
