GarageBand 'breaks new ground' in easy music creation
January 16, 2004 - 14:15 PST   "GarageBand isn't the first computer program that lets you compose music and remix existing songs -- but it might break new ground in how simple it makes the process," writes Jon Fortt of the Mercury News in his review of the new music creation software. "I spent the past weekend testing out GarageBand, enough to make a blurry-eyed declaration that this is a powerful tool someone with no studio recording experience can figure out in a couple of hours. Though GarageBand contains many of the advanced features that can be found in semi-professional programs such as Cakewalk Home Studio and Sony Acid, it hides the complexity, allowing you to manipulate music more like you change fonts, boldness and italics in a document."  [ Email this story ]
