Hot iPod mini ships; over 100,000 pre-orders
February 17, 2004 - 08:37 PST   Apple officially announced today that iPod mini, the company's newest portable music player, will be available on Friday, February 20 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apple Store, Apple's retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers throughout the U.S. iPod mini is encased in an ultra-portable, lightweight anodized aluminum body and available in a choice of five colors: silver, gold, pink, blue and green. Apple says they have received over 100,000 pre-orders for the new player, which was introduced last month.

The iPod mini carries a suggested retail price of US$249 and comes with a belt clip, earbud headphones, power adapter, 1.2m 30-pin to FireWire cable, 1.2m 30-pin to USB 2.0 cable, and a CD with iTunes 4.2 for Mac and Windows. Optional accessories include: iPod Dock for $39, in-ear headphones for $39, an arm band for $29, and laser engraving for $19.
