Adobe exec to keynote Mac Design Conference
May 20, 2004 - 10:33 PDT
Adobe Senior Vice President Jim Heeger will be the keynote speaker for the second annual Mac Design Conference & Expo being held in Chicago, June 2-4 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. At the opening ceremony on June 2, Heeger, with Adobe's Creative Professional Business Unit, will offer a perspective on the elements of great design, and explain Adobe's approach to providing an intelligent design environment specifically created to save designers time and money while freeing them to do their best work. Heeger's presentation title is "Design for the Future."
"Jim Heeger's keynote on great design is well-timed. We all know that it's very difficult to create your very best work in an environment demanding greater efficiency and speed at every turn," said Scott Kelby, editor-in-chief of Mac Design Magazine and NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) president. "Jim's keynote will certainly ignite some interesting discussions and productive collaboration that will jump-start our creative spirits."
The Mac Design Conference offers three-days of in-depth educational training with world-class instructors including David Pogue, columnist for The New York Times; Scott Kelby, editor-in-chief of Mac Design Magazine; Bob LeVitus, author of 45 popular computer books; Deke McClelland, Photoshop Bible author, and Bert Monroy, a pioneer of digital art.
Mac Design is opening its Tech Expo free to the public starting on Wednesday, June 2 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. and Thursday, June 3 from 10:00 a.m – 4:00 p.m. Leading the Tech Expo exhibitor line-up is Apple, Adobe Systems, Microsoft, CDW, Xerox, Wacom, Pantone, and Avid.
Registration for the three-day event is US$499 and includes admission to the keynote address, all conference sessions, some after-hours events, and a detailed workbook containing handouts from every class session.
