OmniWeb update addresses PNG vulnerabilities
August 26, 2004 - 10:15 PDT   The Omni Group has released OmniWeb 5.0.1, an update to its Mac OS X Web browser. Version 5.0.1 corrects an issue with the History Indexing feature, and updates the libpng library used in OmniWeb for rendering PNG (Portable Network Graphics) images, addressing several vulnerabilities as described in US-CERT Security Alert TA04-217A.
