New FireWire products from WiebeTech announced
September 22, 2004 - 08:23 PDT   WiebeTech today announced two new additions to its FireWire product line today. RackFire features two FireWire RAIDS and stores up to 1.6 Terabytes in a 1U rack mount enclosure. It is composed of two hardware RAIDs individually accessible through two hot swappable trays with FireWire 800 connections, each holding two IDE drives. Pricing ranges from US$6999.95 to $2999.95 depending upon configuration. Also announced is the ToughTech FireWire desktop enclosure, which features anti-shock FlexMount protection, fanless operation with venting, and FireWire 400 / 800 / USB2 interfaces. ToughTech is available in two versions: a FireWire 400 / USB2 version, and a FireWire 800 / USB2 version, which is downward compatible with FireWire 400. Prices start at US$79.95.
