Panic shows off Transmit 3
January 13, 2005 - 04:00 PST
by Larry Angell - At this week's Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco, Panic is previewing the next major version of Transmit, its award-winning FTP application. Developers from the company gave MacMinute a guided tour of Transmit 3, showing off several innovative and user-requested features. The new version will sport a new column view, secure FTP (SSL), WebDAV support (allows for use of Apple's .Mac iDisk), and a new tabbed interface for multiple FTP sessions.
Transmit 3 will also offer an all-new bookmarks system similar to Apple's Safari, enhanced image previews, spring loaded folders, and the ability to add frequently used items to the sidebar. Panic told MacMinute that Transmit 3 will be released in the first quarter of this year for US$24.95.
