June 21 - 09:09 ET  Needham & Co. analyst Charles Wolf reports that Apple will introduce a Windows version of the iPod possibly as early as Macworld Expo New York on July 17, MacMinute has learned. In a research note sent to clients, Wolf writes that with an iPod for Windows, Apple could capture about 10 percent of the portable music player market. "That's why the port of the iPod to Windows is significant. It adds an important growth component to the Apple story." In a related development, MacMinute has also learned MediaFour will release the final version of XPlay on Monday. XPlay enables the iPod to be used under Windows 98SE, Me, 2000, and XP.
